Health, Physical & Chemical Restraint

Zimbabwe, 3-10 August 2026

The course "African Wildlife: Health, Physical & Chemical Restraint" is organized by a team of international wildlife veterinarians and academics. Built around long-term collaborations and partnership with professionals working in African wildlife medicine, the course combines theoretical teaching with intensive hands-on, field operations in nearby game parks. The course is dedicated to veterinary professionals and students with an interest in wildlife and conservation. Participants will work in real African ecosystems and across a wide range of species, from buffalo, zebra and wildebeest capture operations to rhinoceros immobilization in the field, large carnivore procedures and Nile crocodile handling, anaesthesia and post-mortem labs.
