Two invited lectures on livestock parasitology at the 30th anniversary conference of Servicii Publice

We took part in the 30th Anniversary Servicii Publice conference held in Cluj-Napoca from 31 October to 2 November 2025. The scientific program on 1 November was organized in three parallel sections—poultry, swine, and cattle—and included two presentations by us in the swine and cattle sessions.
In the swine section, the lecture topic was Is African swine fever transmitted by hematophagous insects? This talk addressed an important and still highly relevant question at the interface of parasitology, vector biology, and animal health management. In the cattle section, we discussed with practitioners about What is anthelmintic chemoresistance and how can it be prevented?, focusing on one of the major current challenges in veterinary parasitology and herd health.
Together, these two lectures reflected two essential areas of current veterinary concern: the epidemiological complexity of pathogen transmission in pigs and the growing significance of resistance to antiparasitic drugs in cattle production. Participation in this event provided an excellent opportunity to contribute to professional dialogue on biosecurity, parasite control, and the practical implications of parasitological research for livestock medicine.
The conference formed part of a broader anniversary program that brought together specialists from multiple sectors of veterinary and animal production practice. Within this context, these contributions added a parasitological perspective to discussions of disease prevention, surveillance, and sustainable control strategies in food-producing animals.
