On 3–4 June 2025, the Tropical Council for Companion Animal Parasites (TroCCAP), in collaboration with the Council of Veterinary Surgeons of Zimbabwe, organized a workshop in Harare on recent advances in parasitic diseases of companion animals.
Prof. Andrei Daniel Mihalca contributed with both lectures and practical training sessions, including:
-
TroCCAP: mission and achievements
-
Intestinal parasites of dogs and cats
-
Canine and feline filariases in Africa
-
A hands-on workshop on fecal examination techniques
The program also featured case studies and practical sessions on blood examination for parasites, creating a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange between international experts and local veterinarians.
This workshop strengthened regional expertise in diagnosing and managing parasitic diseases in dogs and cats, while promoting TroCCAP's mission of improving companion animal health through education and collaboration.
