Systematic data extraction on vectors and vector-borne diseases

Effective decision-making in public and animal health depends on access to structured, high-quality evidence. At Parasitology Consultancy Group, we have carried out systematic data extraction projects focused on vectors and vector-borne diseases, ensuring that large volumes of scattered scientific information are transformed into reliable, usable datasets.

Our work involves:

  • screening thousands of publications through specialized tools such as DistillerSR

  • extracting standardized data on vector species, distribution, pathogen associations, and epidemiological patterns

  • mapping knowledge gaps and inconsistencies across studies

  • organizing the evidence in formats tailored for agencies, consortia, or industry partners

These systematic data extraction exercises have been applied in projects supporting surveillance, risk assessment, and policy development at European and international levels. By turning raw literature into structured knowledge, we provide our partners with the solid evidence base needed to guide research priorities, product development, and public health strategies.
