Participation in the COST Action OHD Meeting – Brussels

In July 2025, Andrei Mihalca was invited to the COST Action CA21111 – One Health Drugs Against Parasitic Vector-Borne Diseases (OHD) meeting, held at the COST Association premises in Brussels.

The meeting focused on the environmental impact of pharmaceuticals, highlighting how veterinary and human antiparasitic drugs may contribute to biodiversity loss and antimicrobial resistance. Sessions brought together representatives from academia, industry, regulatory agencies, and international organizations such as UNEP.

Prof. Andrei Mihalca took part in the discussions as a representative of the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP), contributing to exchanges on the challenges and opportunities of integrating ecotoxicity into a One Health framework.

This event emphasized the importance of dialogue between science, policy, and industry in developing sustainable approaches to antiparasitic drug use and regulation.
