Advancing flea and tick protection by using natural repellents

15/12/2023

Over the past three years, our team has partnered with a leading European manufacturer of veterinary repellents and insecticidal products to conduct an extensive series of clinical field trials in Romania. These studies were designed to rigorously assess new formulations for the control of fleas and ticks in dogs and cats under real-life conditions.

Our work covered a broad spectrum of product types, including sprays, spot-ons, balms, and innovative plant- and silica-based formulations. Each study was carefully tailored to meet regulatory requirements, with protocols aligned to European Biocidal Product Regulation standards. The trials involved hundreds of animals from multiple geographic regions, including areas known for heavy tick infestations, ensuring that evaluations reflected the diversity of field conditions.

In addition to trial execution, we managed every stage of the process: study design, ethical approvals, recruitment of animals, clinical examinations, parasite identification, data collection, and statistical analysis. This end-to-end approach allowed us to generate high-quality, independent evidence to support product development, registration, and positioning on the European market.

Our portfolio demonstrates not only technical expertise in veterinary parasitology but also the ability to integrate scientific rigor with practical, field-based solutions. By combining academic knowledge with applied experience, we provide our partners with a reliable framework for bringing innovative products to market.
