Invited lecture (webinar): “Beyond Deworming – A Modern Perspective on Parasite Control in Dogs and Cats”

Andrei D. Mihalca was invited to deliver an online lecture entitled "Beyond Deworming – A Modern Perspective on Parasite Control in Dogs and Cats", held on 28 April 2026.

The event addressed current approaches to parasite control in companion animals, moving beyond the traditional concept of routine deworming towards a broader, evidence-based strategy. The lecture focused on the importance of risk assessment, parasite biology, epidemiological context, diagnostic support, and tailored prevention protocols in dogs and cats.

They discussed the need for a modern and integrated understanding of parasite control, particularly in relation to clinical decision-making, owner education, and the responsible use of antiparasitic products.

The session was moderated by Dr. Cristian Cristea and was hosted online via Zoom and Facebook. The event was organized as part of the Medicină Veterinară project, with support from Boehringer Ingelheim, Cencora Alliance Healthcare, and VetAria+.
