First field evidence for treating Mammomonogamus ierei infection in cats

05/03/2026

Some feline parasites remain poorly studied, especially when they occur only in restricted regions. In this study, we assessed NexGard® Combo in cats with natural Mammomonogamus ierei infection and demonstrated complete efficacy under field conditions. The results represent the first field evidence of an effective treatment for this parasite and add practical value for veterinarians dealing with unusual respiratory helminths in cats.

I based this on indexed article metadata because the ScienceDirect page itself is access-restricted from my side. The reliably visible details are the title, journal, March 2026 publication, the "first field evidence" claim, and the reported 100% efficacy.
