Field Logistics for Tropical Veterinary Medicine | Northern Kenya | July 2026

In July 2026, our team coordinated and supported the field logistics for a tropical veterinary medicine programme in northern Kenya, developed as part of the first VetAkademos Africa camp.

The programme required the organisation of multi-day activities across remote areas of northern Kenya, including transport, accommodation, local coordination, access to pastoralist communities and the practical integration of veterinary fieldwork with the realities of working in areas with limited infrastructure.

Our team facilitated field activities involving domestic animals, sampling, parasitological and epidemiological observations, interaction with local livestock owners and discussions on animal health, zoonotic risks and preventive veterinary medicine.

Particular attention was given to adapting the programme to local conditions, including long travel distances, difficult road access, coordination with local guides and veterinary contacts, and the movement of people and equipment between several field locations.

The programme also combined veterinary work with wildlife and ecosystem observations, illustrating the logistical complexity of operating at the interface between livestock, companion animals, wildlife and pastoralist communities.

This activity reflects our capacity to design and implement veterinary field operations in remote settings, combining scientific objectives with on-the-ground logistics, local partnerships and practical problem solving.
